Start with the supplier’s current packing instructions and the forecast for your travel dates. A sightseeing day and a Sangalle overnight need different bags. Ask whether larger luggage can stay at your Arequipa accommodation or travel with the vehicle, especially for a Puno connection.

For a day of viewpoints

Prepare warm layers for an early start, comfortable footwear, sun protection, drinking water, your identification and the booking confirmation. Bring cash for costs the selected option leaves out. If you intend to use the hot springs, ask which stop is planned and pack swimwear and a towel.

For the Sangalle trek

Operator packing guidance emphasises a small backpack, suitable walking footwear and layers. Add the overnight essentials you actually need, a head torch for an early start and a way to protect belongings from rain. Check water arrangements rather than assuming refills are provided. Ask about walking poles and accommodation facilities before adding equipment to your bag.

Think about the return climb

The selected treks describe a substantial ascent from Sangalle towards Cabanaconde on the second morning. Consider your experience with sustained uphill walking and read the provider’s age and fitness restrictions.
